In the UK, all premium rate numbers are regulated by the premium rate watchdog PSA.
Failure to comply with PSA regulations whilst running a 09 service can result in fines or having the service terminated or potentially, that company being barred from ever using premium rate services again.
These regulations are set to ensure clarity for the caller to ensure they know
what they are paying for the call.
